This past week has been a whirlwind for me. Got scared interviewed by sir Kyl and maam Via, went to work, said ‘Weh, ala-7 na?’ almost every day, and got bombarded with requests for MST’s and PE’s and PI 100’s. Welcome to CRS.

proposed layout by crs interns :)

We were asked to design our own screen for the future advanced search/filter function for classes during pre-enlistment.

But it’s not as bad as it sounds. There are seven of us interns working here and as they say, the more the merrier. We were given exercises on PHP, Javascript, and Ajax, and made to implement modules similar to those used in the new CRS site. We all got to learn a lot of things in a short span of time, while laughing and abusing the free snacks. :p

Also, while studying the different parts of the website, I realized that there are so many things that we (as users) take for granted. Every error message, every button, every part of the design is well planned to suit the users’ needs. And to think that the CRS team consists of very few people and that we are kinda already part of it and that we’d be making some of the future modules. Cool.

So far, working in CRS has been fun and stress-free. SO FAR. I have yet to experience the pressure before the deadlines and the complaints of unsatisfied students/faculty. That’s to be expected, since this is CRS. Good luck to us. ü
