During my first week of my internship, I got time to get to know my workmates. There were Karl, Mary, Peter and JC who were already part of the CRS team and my fellow co-interns, A, Jaye, Joanne, JS, Maxine and Sam. They were very accommodating. Peter was the one who introduced us to the concepts and structure behind the CRS.

In the first days of the week, we were taught on the basics of PHP and Codeigniter and made our first module. It was very simple. Later on, JQuerry and Javascript were included in our next module. JQuerry together with Javascript is one good way in providing effects in the client’s browser and helping in the validation of data before sending it to the server thus, decreasing the load of the server.

After getting familiar with Javascript, AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript and XML) along with JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) were introduced to us. It was used for fetching data from the server without the need to reload the page.

At the end of the week, we were invited by Dr. Roel Ocampo,. the head of UP Computer Center to have dinner in Amici at SM North Edsa. We got to know each other during the dinner.
